In this section, you find an important set of information that we collected and that can facilitate the preparation of your trips. Indeed, wherever you travel around the world the greatest expense remains the payment of the flights. It can be the only great expense you have to pay. Buses and trains are super means of moving and can be not expensive at all in some regions like Asia. The information provided here risks to be not totally updated, but we will try to give you prices as close as possible to the real costs.

In Europe ?

Flight

In Europe, it is necessary to use the Low Cost companies to benefit from cheap flights. This is not a rumor; the flights from 1 to 20 euro really exist. You just need to be flexible and accept to depart in the middle of the week and to book enough time in advance. On average, it is necessary to expect:

         * A Flight in Western Europe:20-50 euro one way
         * A Flight to/from Eastern Europe : 50-100 euro one way

Bus

The Bus remains the cheapest way of moving in Europe. The possibilities are varied and information easy to find. The Bus can be more or less comfortable, that depends on the country and the destination. The frequency of the Buses is rather satisfactory especially between big cities. We will speak here about the first international company i.e. Eurolines. It runs in almost all the European countries and is, sometimes in partnership with some local companies. the tickets can always be found in their stands easily. The good bargains consist mainly in:

         * Pass Eurolines 15 days (according to season):169-229-329 euro makes it possible to travel free in all the countries of Europe during 2 weeks
         * Pass Eurolines 1 month (according to season): 229-259-359 euro makes it possible to travel free in all the countries of Europe during 1 month

see more details on the Bus (Eurolines)

Train

The train remains the most popular means for traveling in Europe. The network is dense, covers all Europe, large cities or small villages with a frequency that is sometimes impressive. In some countries like France, the train is the only means of traveling between the cities. The international trains often travel by night and link almost all the capitals, but they may be sometimes slow. The travelers are interested in the train especially for the famous "EuroRail Pass". This Pass makes it possible to travel in an area of Europe almost free for a period going from one to three months. The prices of Pass vary between:

         * Pass EuroRail 1 month : 200-250 euro makes it possible to travel almost free in all the countries of Europe during 1 month
         * Pass EuroRail 3 months : 300-350 euro makes it possible to travel almost free in all the countries of Europe for 3 months

In Asia ?

Flight

Asia is a large continent and there are many differences between the south, north, India or China. In some areas like the south east (Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, etc) some low costs companies start to develop. The only problem in fact is that the travel agencies can be doubtful (company that disappear in one day, sale of non existing flights, etc). But, in general, you can fly from any country towards almost all the others (the majority of the flights pass by Bangkok or Singapore; therefore it is better if you have in advance the visas to these two countries). If you travel to India, China or Indonesia, you should know that you are likely going to take local flights because the distances between cities can be sometimes enormous. It is necessary to pay attention to the frequency of the flights in certain countries (Cambodia, Laos, etc) in advance; they might be very few (flights once per week from Laos towards Cambodia, etc). The companies often have a good quality of service and the prices are not expensive. Always opt for making reservations in advance and purchase your flights on Internet (no need for agencies). Just to give you an idea, here you can find some information:

         * South East Asia, China. : 50-100 euro makes it possible to travel in 2nd class, way of 500km
         * India, etc.35-70 euro make it possible to travel in 2nd class, way of 500km

Bus

The quality of the buses varies according to the country where you are, but it remains generally acceptable. In Thailand, the Buses are comfortable, leave from large stations and often in time. In China, the bus remains a limited means of moving considering the long distances between the cities. In India buses are impossible to avoid and it is even worthy to spend one night in the Bus (there are real beds inside). The main information which should be retained is that there are no Buses running between cities of different countries. If you go from one country to another, your way would be broken up into stages: To go initially to the borders, leave the bus, cross the border and then find another means of transport (possibly also buses). There's no need to worry, it is very simple to do that, and often you will not be alone at the borders. There are some other precautions that have also to be taken. For example, the season of monsoon in Asia can cause floods that result in the closing of a lot of roads. This will make moving simply impossible in some areas. It is good to know if you have limited budget and you plan to use the bus for your traveling. But still the good news is that the trips by bus in Asia are incontestably the cheapest means of transport in the world (in India you can make a way of 400 km for 3 euro, etc) Here are some information as indications :

         * South East of Asia, China,.. : 5-10 euro euro makes it possible to travel in 2nd class, way of 500km
         * India, etc.3-5 euro make it possible to travel in 2nd class, way of 500km

Train

The train in Asia, as everywhere, is rather a reliable means of transport, but which are unfortunately not running everywhere (some villages, mountains, countries are not accessible by the train). The prices and the long distances remain good raisons to a frequent use of the train. Indeed, the train is essential for your travel. It is often slower than the bus but surer (except for Japan). The night train is present everywhere, the international travels are possible; the system of classes enables you to pay according to your budget. The trains are often in time and stop in all the villages in their passages, which offers you a unique opportunity to live the magic moments in the stations with the noises of small salesmen, the travelers, the children, the employees of the station. people running, screaming... It is something to experience. The prices vary according to the class and countries. Here are some information some indications:

         * South East of Asia, China: 5-10 euro makes it possible to travel in 2nd class, way of 500km
         * India, etc.3-5 euro make it possible to travel in 2nd class, way of 500km

South & Center America

Flight

South and Central America is an immense continent. Using flights in this continent is almost impossible to avoid especially because certain areas are simply not connected to the terrestrial networks of roads. In many countries (Brazil, Argentina, Chile, etc) the distances between the cities are enormous and buses take two or three whole days to go from one city to another. You can buy your flights on the spot paying accessible prices, but if you intend to move much it is better to buy a flight Pass. This Pass has to be bought outside the country where you intend to take the flight; Contact your travel agency before your departure and ask for a quote (the price varies according to the countries, frequency, season, etc). The network of airports is very developed in certain countries and the quality of service varies (check the information about the companies which sell the flights, few companies are known for the high number of accidents.). Below you find indications and some examples of prices:

         * Flight in Argentina : 40-60 Dollars normal flight, one way, duration of 1h30
         * Flight in Brazil 100 -150 Dollars normal flight, one way, duration of 1h30
