You have surely watched a TV show on the South Pole, or the life of penguins or on a jungle in Brazil

You have also surely read books or articles on the world’s greatest cities, from London to Beijing, via New York and Sydney… Votre enfance n'était-elle pas marquée par les bandes dessinées de l'aigle de l'Eldorado ou du dessin animé Rémy dans les Pyrénées Belle et Sébastien.

The desert, mountains, ski, snow, steppes, forests, snakes, safaris, the seas and oceans... but reading books or magazines and watching TV nature shows will never give you the feeling you get when you’ve reached the Tierra del Fuego or find yourself among penguins a bit bewildered to have fulfilled your childhood dream; or to smell the odor of the sea, to taste tropical fruit right there in a tropical jungle, to feel the southern winds, to merge into a crowd at the Rio Carnival or to sleep under the midnight sun in Finland.

Travels provide a real understanding of our world... Hours of history classes on Andalusia will never replace a stroll into the gardens of the Alhambra... A thousand books on the jungle can never describe what you feel when faced with a snake in the middle of the forest... How can you understand the French if you’ve never set at a terrace or spent a night out in Paris?

How can you communicate with an Argentinean if you don’t even know where Argentina is? How can you understand a TV show on Russia if you have no knowledge of Russian history? Why do Indians have so many religions? Why are Nordic countries rich? Why is there so much talk on China? Are all Europeans similar? Where does the wealth of Japan come from? Nothing is better than a trip to those countries to better understand.

To travel with an Arab passport is a real pleasure... a challenge... an exception... It’s every time as interesting to see a South American customs agent’s surprise at such an exotic passport, or the perplexity of others in Asia and probably the worry of those in Europe… It simply remains a rare occurrence when a Tunisian visits Norway or Japan when no one is surprised to hear that a German tourist was wounded in a train accident wherever the accident occurred in the world... When you travel, you’re showing the world that you exist that and are part of this world.

To travel is building your personality, experience, knowledge, getting ideas and making your own opinion... While traveling we learn, we understand, we discover the world and one’s self and we grow... We become better... To travel is to prepare a better future... whether a philosopher, a business man or a merchant… You can become someone else… many jobs can also go to people who know how to travel. To travel is also a way to show your strength of character, will power, the power of your desires and their accomplishment.

To travel is to contribute to the world’s evolution, especially in the case of our Arab world, by discovering, providing testimonies, demonstrating and showing the example… to be among those who help change the world.

To travel is going to meet History, waking up after hibernation, emerging from isolation... and going to meet the people of the world... communicate... and live together.

To travel is to say something about one’s self, opening the doors to knowledge and sharing one’s culture and knowledge.

What about you, have you ever left your little corner of the world?
